Job DescriptionReliability Engineer
Durables Research & Development - Ada, MI
Reporting to the Supervisor Sr. Group Leader/ Durables R & D, this Reliability Engineer will support the durables product lines, including: air and water filtration systems, medical devices, cookware, and cutlery. This position will provide reliability expertise to ensure high quality standards with our durables products, working with multi-disciplinary product development teams to guide reliability standards. This individual will work within a team to develop and implement test plans that will guide product improvements, ensure conformance to specifications, and enhance product development initiatives This engineer will be responsible for generating reliability standards which lead to superior performance of the Amway Durables Brand.
The successful individual will leverage their proficiency to
Lead test plan development and execution of tests for new product development and legacy product improvements.
Innovating in the development of test apparatus, lab protocols and fixtures for automated test equipment, the application of reliability science in failure diagnosis and data analysis.
Integration of new test systems by working with developers, learning functionality, creating test specifications, procedures and instructions.
Work with product development teams in creating and implementing test plans, acceptance criteria and procedures relating to new product development and legacy product improvement
Provide failure analysis, investigation of data trends, and corrective actions for reliability test failures.
The accomplished individual will possess
Minimum four years' experience, preferably in a reliability test lab environment
Experienced with LabView (exposures to ALTA or WIEBULL helpful)
Ability to create test fixtures and understand broad range of electrical and mechanical testing equipment
Working knowledge of FMEA
Analytical talent to analyze test data and provide meaningful reporting
Proven track record in cross cultural partnerships
Talent to lead project teams offering influence with tact and diplomacy
Knowledge of product development processes and background offering reliability input
Ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment demonstrating commitment to goals
The strong professional will have the following academic credentials .
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering
