Job DescriptionAircraft Technician II - 2nd Shift
Aviation Maintenance, KCA Airport, MI
As a key member of the Aviation Maintenance Team, this Aircraft Technician II will report to the Manager of Aircraft Maintenance at the Amway Corporate Hanger. This is a second shift (2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) position Monday through Friday, with flexibility required for some overtime, Saturday and Sunday work. This person will be responsible for, and monitor the inspection and maintenance required by the F.A.A. and manufacturers for the safe and efficient operation of our Amway business aircrafts. This Technician will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the various Amway aircrafts, troubleshooting and correcting any aircraft malfunctions. Their work includes, post and pre-flight inspections, working on a variety of corporate aircrafts. They will complete inspection forms, discrepancy forms, log books and other forms required for documentation, insuring maintenance logs are current and up to date. This individual will be assigned duties as an Amway Certified Repair Station with oversight of other maintenance facility work. The Technician may also monitor inspections required by the F.A.A. and manufacturers for the Amway Fuel Storage Depot and Refueler as required by FAR 139. This person must also be available to perform duties as a Flight Attendant on international flights, 1 - 2 times annually.
The successful individual will leverage their proficiency to
Monitor and inspect Amway business aircrafts for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
Correct aircraft malfunctions as required by the F.A.A. and manufacturers of the aircrafts
Support Maintenance Team with a variety of tasks driving efficiencies for the group
Maintains Amway ground support equipment, hanger and shop equipment
Function as an occasional flight attendant for international flights
During Winter will de-ice planes, snow blow, snow plow, etc.
The accomplished individual will possess
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA License)
Federal Aviation Administrator Inspector Authorization Certificate
Minimum 5 yrs. experience in the maintenance of business aircrafts (experience with Gulfstream, Challenger, Citations, etc.)
Ability to work well in dynamic, cross functional environment
Ability to work 2nd shift with flexibility for some overtime
Ability to pass TSA security check for airport operation
Valid Driver's License, with ability to operate a variety of equipment (hi-lo, fuel truck, snow plow)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
