The Quality Assurance Packaging Technician will lead packaging laboratory testing on primary package containers and secondary packaging materials. This individual will work predominately with Packaging R&D;, Manufacturing and Formulation Engineers to support new product launches and brand maintenance. This person will identify testing procedures for packaging challenges which may include creation of custom fixtures or test methods to achieve required results.
Job DescriptionReliability Lab Technician II
Durables Product Support - Ada, MI
This person will work with a team of five in the Reliability Lab that supports our Durables Product Development teams. They will be involved in hands on testing of durables products, including water filtration systems, air filtration systems, cookware, cutlery & medical device products. These products will range from complex electro-mechanical to simple mechanical, plastic, or metal items. This individual will perform testing generated by system requests, and will source product samples, use standard testing to perform the required test, make observations, and detail test results into an Excel database. Additionally they will communicate with the Engineers to guide quality in the product development process. They will support the team with a variety of work assignments.

Lead testing for air and water filtration systems, involving obsolescence testing and reliability assurance
Understand engineering drawings for schematics and wiring
Provide accurate data input for use in statistical analysis of product reliability, tooling changes, etc. (which provides information to support informed decision making to Engineers)
Support lab and department activities, including; housekeeping, lab efficiencies, project teams, etc.
Work efficiently with mechanical equipment and materials (e.g., operate, maintain, calibrate, etc.)
Provide accurate and timely reporting

Exposures to reliability lab equipment
Experience working with engineering drawings
Experience working in a Quality Assurance or Consumer Product testing lab, ideally in a regulated environment (e.g., cGMP)
Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills working with test failure modes
Strong skills in Excel (expertise working with spreadsheets)
Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to communicate technical knowledge and understand technical directions (verbal and in writing)
The ability to work independently and on cross-functional teams
Interest in seeking efficiencies, and working on improvement initiatives
